Daris Gunars Delins was born in Melbourne, Australia, is of Latvian parentage, and has lived in New York since 1999 before moving to Vermont in the fall of 2021. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Economics cum laude, triple majoring in Economics, Statistics, and Accounting from LaTrobe University. He has also attended the School of Economics / J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago as a Fulbright Scholar in 1981-82, and completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Delins is an international finance specialist, having worked since 1985 for international organizations including Citigroup, NatWest Markets and UBS in Australia, London and New York. He is now runs a private financial and business advisory consultancy with a focus on investment management, climate change, and international film distribution.

Mr. Delins has been an active member of the Latvian community since childhood. Following in the footsteps of his father, Emils Delins, OAM, who was Honorary Consul General for Latvia in Australia from 1983-2004, Mr. Delins was Honorary Consul for Latvia in New York from 2007-2021 and is now Honorary Consul for Latvia in Vermont.

Mr. Delins visits Latvia several times a year, is married with 2 children, and resides in Dorset, Vermont.
