ABOUT US

The non-profit organization “American Friends of the Latvian National Museum Inc.,” a 501 (c) (3) charity, supports raising awareness in the United States of the collections and work of the Latvian National Museum of Art and other similar cultural organizations in Latvia which are dedicated to the collection, preservation and dissemination of artworks and other materials of artistic, historic, academic, and cultural relevance in all mediums. American Friends of the Latvian National Museum Inc. was founded in 2022.

Funds donated to the Organization will provide financial support to organizations like the Latvian National Museum of Art in Riga to facilitate the their work in exhibiting, preserving, cataloging, digitizing, archiving, and expanding their collections. The Museum, and similar recipients of the Organization’s grants, may use such funds to underwrite exhibitions, scholarships, conferences, and related cultural and academic events.

Artwork, if evaluated as cultural-historical, of artistic significance, and in compliance with a museum’s collection policy, may also be donated to the Organization.
